How can Think support B1 Preliminary?
Start from what the learner can do now—not age or a certificate label.
The short answer
Think can provide themes, reading and listening input and communication material, but finishing the book does not itself prove PET readiness. Map each unit's ability to B1 tasks, then add format, timing and review.
Signs to begin
The learner understands course themes and completes communication tasks and now needs to transfer that ability to B1 Preliminary.
Signs to wait
Level is inferred only from unit progress, or full timed mocks replace real reading, listening and writing.

Decide from real performance
- Can theme language transfer beyond the textbook to new texts and situations?
- Can reading and listening handle B1 length and information density beyond familiar course material?
- Can writing and speaking fully answer a task and remain clear within the time available?

Start in this order
- 01After each theme unit, add one transfer task using unfamiliar material on the same topic.
- 02Use official B1 tasks to add format requirements for each of the four skills.
- 03Once ability is stable, add timed practice and return to the relevant unit when errors reveal a gap.
